Hi, I'm Mrs. Wood!
Hi Puma families! My name is Mrs. Wood, and I am so excited to be your child's fourth grade teacher at Prairie Elementary School. This is my seventh year as a teacher within Kildeer Countryside District 96; in 2016 I had an amazing experience as a special education aide at Ivy Hall Elementary. This upcoming school year will be my seventh year teaching fourth grade! I absolutely LOVE this grade! :)
A little about me- I graduated from Illinois State University in May of 2016 (go Redbirds!) with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and a minor in Children's Studies. I received my Master's degree in Literacy Education (with a focus in bilingual education) from Northern Illinois University in August of 2020. I love the great outdoors! Whether it's camping, gardening, hiking, taking a walk or riding my bike, I love nature and everything it has to offer. I cannot wait to get to know all of my students and families on a personal level! Building positive relationships within the classroom community is the key to having a fantastic school year (which I know we will have). Go Pumas! Check out our tweets!
